How Many Pre-Mades Will Use The 8V8 Option?

I've watched a lot of pre-mades ... I actually tried one for the first time on the weekend.
There seems to be a wide variety of motivation for it ...
1) Playing with other folks is fun and the extra coordination doesn't hurt. One interesting observation is that even when folks are doing their own thing in a group ... they are less likely to just wander off and die since other folks are watching.
2) Some pre-mades are all about rolling over the opponents ... maximizing W/L and K/D.
3) Some pre-mades enjoy the challenge, the strategy, planning and execution against competent opponents.
Folks from groups 1 and 3 will probably love the 8v8 queue since they are playing for fun and challenge. Folks from group 2 might well just stay away from it since their stats will drop and they won't be able to roflstomp their opponents.
I am just curious what the proportion of players might be in each category ... will the regular playing queue still be filled with 4 man pre-mades who enjoy rolling over other players more than the fun and challenge of an even match?

They actually changed this with the latest update.
2,3,4 or 8 only.
up to 4 works as it does now, 8 man is only against other 8 men drops and there is no drop restrictions other than numbers

It's in the second post in the "how it works" section

That doesn't seem quite right. Last I heard you had to have 2 4-man groups to queue. Maybe that's old info, but the last I remember at least.
I do know DHB will be dropping 8 man groups frequently. We'll probably have 3+ teams running 8 man queues during peak hours, so there should be a number of teams in the queue ready to go.

Before, they were planning on all kinds of spiffy team options - run five (clanners!) run six, seven, eight, whatever! Just be aware you CAN face a full 8 man team!
I guess that was too much work or something, so now it's back to 8 or nothing.

This.
A lot of people/clans are in for a rude awakening when they realize running an 8-man is no longer an instant win and that they aren't quite as skilled as they thought. Then they will go back to 4 man duo-queuing.
I expect that 8-man drops will thin out after a few weeks and become the realm of the more competitive players but without CW to give them something to aim for beyond c-bills some will drop back to 4 mans for a bit more of a challenge, if they tire of facing the same handful of 8 man teams with the same builds round after round.
Need that CW to really make it thrive. Until then it'll just be a sort of proving ground.

If i had teamspeak (and a headset/mic) and 7 friends on, I would. Or even just drop with random groups of 8. unfortunately i do not, and for various reasons don't think i will anytime soon, so I will continue pug dropping, and rolling my eyes at the amount of stupidity and whining these forums seem to make.
Maybe in future i join a group. will have to see.

There is no 'take two fours and merge them' either.
If yuo have a 4-man group you have to dissolve the group and make a new 8-man-only group to even be allowed to invite more than 4 players.

You might be surprised by the number of casuals that won't mind dropping in 8s even if they lose most of their games. I play WoT quite a bit and when I do company battles I go up against casuals all the time. Most of them aren't even from a single unit they are just random guys that joined the que to fight using coms. Those teams can't be winning more than 20% of their games but you can find them in the company battles que all the time.
